New Shops Open At Fort Myers; Walgreens, Now Under Construction

Good news for Fort Myers residents. Part of Fort Myers property management, new shops are now open to consumers. The new shops are located at Del Prado on the corner of Del Prado Extension and U.S. 41 in North Fort Myers. In addition to the usual grocery, meat, produce, dairy and frozen food departments, the 45,600-square-foot store will open new amenities like bakery, deli, fresh seafood and pharmacy. Moreover, the store will include a 1,400-square-foot Publix Liquors. The new store will create new jobs because approximately 120 Publix associates are to be employed at the store.


Shannon Patten, manager of Media & Community Relations said, "This store will have our new paint and decor package." She added, "In addition to a change in overall environment the store will also have an expanded variety of natural organic and earth-friendly items. Our customers will see many familiar faces from the old store as the majority of the associates will be transferring from the old store. We did also hire some additional staff."

In another story, Walgreens are now under construction in the plaza and the opening date is yet to be announced. Officials said that they value customer satisfaction that is why new stores are built less than a mile from the current one.
